National Blue Ribbon School Award
U. S. Secretary of Education Cardona announced 2021 National Blue Ribbon School awardees this morning. Of 1,700 public schools in Tennessee, six were nominated for the honor last spring, and Thrasher Elementary was one of those six. Today, we are pleased to share that Thrasher is once again designated as a National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education.
We heartily thank our top-drawer faculty and staff, our parents who stay integral to their children’s education, and the students who always strive to do their very best.

State Reward School
As you heard earlier this year, Thrasher was named a state reward school by the Tennessee Department of Education. State Reward Schools are those that perform in the top 5% of the state.

Governor’s Civic Seal
Thrasher also earned the Governor’s Civic Seal this year. We will be striving to earn the seal again for this next school year.

Level 5 Growth
In addition to earning the National Blue Ribbon School Award for 2021 and State Reward School status, Thrasher also demonstrated Level 5 academic growth, which is the highest growth level designation. Thrasher is the only school in Hamilton County to receive all four designations!

State Ranking
According to Best Schools in Tennessee - TN School Rankings (schooldigger.com), Thrasher is the top ranked school in Hamilton County and 9th out of 974 elementary schools in the State of Tennessee.
eLab
Construction on the eLab is complete, and now the equipment is being assembled. We are very excited to roll out this new, engaging iteration of STEM instruction. The eLab will be complete by October 1st, and we will begin with classes on October 19th – immediately after fall break. Look for good things and stories to come from this exciting venture!
