05: Into the Routine

August 26, 2018

Dear Thrasher Families,

For those who are interested in how Thrasher performs in standardized testing, you’ll be pleased to know that Thrasher scored as a Level 5 (out of 5) school in achievement. In fact, not only is Thrasher one of the top three schools in the county based on test data, we’re one of the top schools in the great state of Tennessee. Our growth score this year is Level 3 (out of 5), which means that even though we’re at the top, we still showed the required amount of growth. If you’re into statistics, you’ll know that this is no easy feat. We continue to perform strong because of our amazing teachers and supportive parents!

Remember the Date

·       Aug. 31               Panther Pride Assembly

·       Sept. 3                Labor Day – No School

Snake Repellent

HCDE came Monday morning to spread snake repellent around the playground borders. They left me some extra if I need it. They swear that it really works! We’ll continue to stay on our side of the blue line until maintenance cuts back the kudzu around the fences.

Library Books

From Mrs. Johnston:

I am starting a friendly competition between classes in each grade level this year. The class with the least overdues every quarter is the winner.

The prize is a popcorn party for ONE class in each grade level for returning the most books on time every week. Kindergarten will not start the competition until after fall break. All other grade levels will get the first parties before fall break (October 1-5). This includes multi-age and first because they will start checking out books after Labor Day.

Thank You

Thank you for coming out to the orientation nights. Not too many schools have as many parents involved as Thrasher does. Thrasher is a great school because we have great parents and great teachers.
