Throughout the summer, this page will be updated with summer reading, school supplies, and "to-do" tasks to prepare for the next school year.

Join us for our On-Campus Registration Event! Get your ticket here! (Friday, Aug. 6th)
See class rolls, meet teachers, sign up to volunteer!

  • Will cafeteria lunches be free again this year? Yes!
  • May we bring school supplies to the building before school starts? Yes. You can bring supplies to school during the registration morning (August 6th). Supplies can go to grade level hallways.
  • When can we see class rolls? Thrasher’s tradition is to display class rolls for the first time on the school’s front windows early on registration morning (Aug. 6).
  • Are masks required this school year? HCDE makes changes regularly based on data. Currently, masks are recommended but not required.
  • What’s with all the construction going on at Thrasher? A lot is going on for our building!
    • Safety: front entrance will be more secure
    • Safety: class doors can be locked from INSIDE the room; doors latch
    • Efficiency: new perforated shades installed on windows that face the sun all year
    • Technology: Thrasher will now be truly one-to-one for devices-to-students. (This doesn’t mean children will be on devices all day.)
    • Pleasure: outdoor classrooms revitalized; picnic table seating for a class of 24 has been installed (thank you parents and PTA!)
    • Instruction & Engagement: A new eLab has been created to take our K-5 STEM instruction and our Project-Based Learning to the next level. We are so excited about this! We’ll have much more to share very soon.
    • General: lots of basic maintenance has occurred all summer. On most days, we have had 7-8 construction crews at Thrasher.
    • Future Projects: We have started some good work on some very necessary projects: repaving the car line is the biggest one.
  • How do I volunteer/get involved, how does lunch work, what about transportation, how do I register, where is the school supply list, are there school fees, etc.? – See below!
  • What about Kindergarten and Phase-In? – Kindergarten families, look for a separate email soon for information specific to you.
