FAQs

  • What are the school hours?
    •  SACC opens 6:00am
    • School doors open 8:15am
    • Class lessons begin 8:40am
    • Dismissal begins 3:40pm
    • SACC closes 6:00pm
  • May we bring school supplies to the building before school starts? Yes. You can bring supplies to school during the registration morning (August 4th). Supplies can go to grade level hallways.
  • When can we see class rolls? Thrasher’s tradition is to display class rolls for the first time on the school’s front windows early on registration morning.
  • How do I volunteer/get involved, how does lunch work, what about transportation, how do I register, where is the school supply list, are there school fees, etc.? – See below!

Things You Can Do Before School Starts

  • Returning students register by updating information in PowerSchool – all returning students need to complete this step if you didn’t do it in May https://www.hcde.org/cms/One.aspx?portalId=350278&pageId=30089281

  • Submit Your Documents Online – Documents can be submitted during the registration process or by fax (423.886.0888).
    • All Students: 2 Proofs of Residency
    • New to Hamilton County Students: Birth Certificate and TN Immunization Form

  • Sign up for SACC (School Age Child Care) - Click here for SACC web site. Registration isn't complete until the initial registration fee is paid online or at Thrasher's front office.

  • Sign up for our New Family Orientation – Help us plan for a productive and informative event by letting us know you’re coming. 1301 James Blvd., Signal Mountain, TN. Ticket link coming soon.

  • Look up bus info - https://www.hcde.org/cms/one.aspx?pageId=698957. Find your bus number, pick-up time, and drop-off time at the transportation link above.

  • Sign up for Online Lunch Payments – This is the easiest way to manage lunch finances at Thrasher. LINQ Connect - Making Schools Stronger 

  • Sign up for Online School Payments (school fees, field trips). If you like paying online more than writing checks, this is for you. https://osp.osmsinc.com/hamiltontn/default.aspx

  • Like Thrasher PTA’s FB page to get notifications: https://www.facebook.com/ThrasherElementary/ and join PTA.

  • Support Thrasher through the Mountain Education Foundation. This is how we pay for our eLab Teacher and our Extra Reading Support Teacher. We depend mightily on the MEF for support.   • Add Orientation/Open House Nights to your calendar – Orientation Nights are held at school in the cafeteria. Information will be made available to families that cannot attend. Dates coming soon.

Summer Reading

Reading for enjoyment is a primary way to increase fluency as a reader. Reading a minimum of 20 minutes per day is highly recommended.
